Flood Watch in effect until Saturday at 8AM
The heaviest of rain will stay over the Catskills today, but we will still see a fair amount and there is some cause for concern.
Light to moderate rain will fall through mid-evening tonight with the heavier rain in eastern portions of the basin. Showers will continue through the morning hours Saturday.
Current thinking is for and average of 1.5" over the watershed with the west seeing closer to 1" and the east 2".
8AM river level is 974.1ft. Expect the river to crest between 978.5-980.5' early tomorrow afternoon. This will cause some flooding at Keith Clark Park and the extreme end of the Willow St. extension, and possibly to River St. at the Camp St. intersection.
Flash flooding is a possibility again today with streams still flowing at moderate levels this morning.
Summer Work 2024. We will be busy again this summer installing three new satellite transmitters and doing general station maintenance.
